Nozzle control products
The control of spraying systems is of paramount importance. In many applications even minor variations in pressure can result in potentially harmful changes in spray properties. Precise control of the spray on/off cycle may also be required. With air atomising nozzles control will also need to be exercised over the air as well as the fluid.
To this end SNP have available a series of fluid and air regulator products that we recommend for use with our spray nozzles. The datasheets for each product can be accessed by clicking on the relevant product boxes below.
Fluid regulator valve
This variable pressure regulator valve can be set between 0 and 60 PSI (0-4 bar). This will ensure a steady regulated fluid allowing for consistent spray properties and flow rates. The valve has 4 ports and so can be fitted with a pressure gauge. They are made from hygienic food grade plastics with stainless steel fluid touching parts making them suitable for food process applications.
Fluid solenoid valve
These electrically actuated valves provide a rapid response on/off control for fluid flows. They come in either 2 port or 3 port versions and in either stainless steel (for hygienic applications) or brass for non-hygienic.
Air solenoid valve
These electrically actuated valves provide a rapid response on/off control for air flows. They come in either 2 port or 3 port versions and in either stainless steel (for hygienic applications) or brass for non-hygienic. These are commonly used with air atomising nozzles to rapidly cycle the air supply on and off. As air is far more responsive than liquid when these valves are used to control the air actuated shut off systems in our air atomising nozzles they can be cycled on and off up to 3 times per second. This allows for the precise control of spraying.
Air regulator
The air regulator system is modular and consists of three functions. Firstly the basic valves will regulate the air pressure. This can be set between 0 and 10 bar ensuring a consistent flow and pressure of air. This consistency is vital in many air atomising spray systems where small changes in air pressure can dramatically affect the spray produced. In addition to pressure regulation filtration and air lubrication modules can be added to give complete air regulation systems.
These regulators are available in a standard aluminum material for basic, non hygienic systems or in stainless steel for food, pharmaceutical and other hygienic spraying systems.
Strainer
Many nozzles have small orifices which are sensitive to clogging. We recommend good upstream filtration for many of our nozzles to reduce the risk of costly downtime whilst clogged nozzles are cleaned. Our strainers come in various pipe sizes and can be made in brass or 316 stainless for food grade applications.
Ball valve
A simple range of ball valves to control the flow into spraying systems is available. These valves are manually operated and come in a wide variety of pipe sizes. They can be manufactured in brass or hygienic 316 stainless steel.
